It can also act as physical properties a co-polymerisable plasticizer, defoamer and/or adhesion promoter with flame retardant properties. It is a proprietary mixture of Acrylated mono-and di-Phosphate ester; where the reactive Acrylate group is Methacrylate and the Acrylic Acid adduct of CARDURA® E10.Easy to handle liquid due to the low viscosity It is an effective flame retardant, which does not contain halogens. Addition of approximately 5 % results in a final P content of the flame-retardant polyester or polyacrylate of approx. 0.5 %. Via the Glycidyl ester of Versatic 10 acid (CARDURA® E10) moiety, a secondary hydroxyl functional group is introduced, which can be used for crosslinking with melamine or isocyanate resins (automotive topcoats). Two-pack systems based on ADD APT PolySurF HPACE containing polymers show a very good potlife because the reactivity of the secondary OH group is not too high. The bulky hydrocarbon group of the Versatic acid provides steric protection to the cured polymer against hydrolysis (good acid resistance), water repellency (hydrophobicity), and provides excellent pigment wetting. ADD APT® PolySurF HPACE can easily be copolymerised with other acrylic monomers and Styrene, where ADD APT® PolySurF HPACE has a flexibilising effect. ADD APT® PolySurF HPACE is a very effective co-polymerisable defoamer for water based UV-curable systems where migration of the defoamer is undesirable. The di-phosphate ester affords some degree of crosslinking without gel formation. Solvent- and halogen-free proprietary mixture of methacrylate mono- and di-phosphate ester. Used as UV-curable additive, co-polymerisable plasticizer, defoamer and/or adhesion promoter with effective flame retardant properties. Suitable for polyesters and polyacrylates.
