Airflex 409 vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) copolymer Air Products Ethylene copolymers - emulsions (VAE, EVC) >> Vinyl Acetate Ethylene copolymers, VAE Airflex 409 emulsion is a surfactant-stabilized vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) copolymer emulsion with excellent adhesion to PVC, ABS, and PET films and exceptional water resistance. Compounding Airflex 409 emulsion is compatible with most plasticizers, thickeners and additives used for vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer bases. The emulsion can accept high loadings of fillers without appreciably changing the viscosity. It is also stable to fluctuations in pH. Airflex 409 emulsion may be combined with water-soluble resins such as poly(vinyl alcohol), protein, starches or casein. It is compatible with other Airflex vinyl acetateethylene copolymers, Flexbond® vinyl acetate copolymers and Vinac® vinyl acetate homopolymer emulsions produced by Air Products. Applications: Airflex 409 emulsion can be used in applications where very high water resistance is required. Its adhesion performance makes it suitable for use in adhesives for PVC, ABS, PET and Mylar films. Airflex 409 emulsion has a low heat-seal temperature and block-resistant characteristics that are useful for heat-seal adhesive applications.
