Flexbond 149 vinyl acetate-based copolymer Air Products Polyvinyl acetate emulsions & derivatives (PVAc…) >> PVAc homopolymers ADHESIVE ADHESIVE >> Hot-melt >> Pressure sensitive (HMPSA) Flexbond 149 emulsion is a vinyl acetate-based copolymer, which dries into a film exhibiting pressure-sensitive properties. Flexbond 149 emulsion offers high tack and peel properties. This emulsion is mechanically stable and has excellent machinability. The dried film of this emulsion is completely clear and has excellent water resistance. This film also resists discoloration and “bleed-through” with aging, and degradation by ultraviolet light, oxygen and ozone. Compounding Flexbond 149 emulsion is compatible with most vinyl acetate homopolymers and copolymers, in addition to a large cross section of elastomeric lattices. The emulsion can be compounded readily to selectively change such properties as ‘‘quickstick’’ and low-temperature peel strength. Applications: Flexbond 149 emulsion is especially suited for use in applications requiring permanent pressure sensitivity. Such applications include labels, decals and tapes. This emulsion is also used as an adhesive base for laminating plastic film to scrims and nonwovens. In decorative vinyl chloride film applications, Flexbond 149 emulsion has proven to be particularly effective because the pressure-sensitive properties are only slightly affected by plasticizer migration from the PVC film.
