It offers moderate peel and moderate dry tack with very high shear. Flexbond 153 emulsion is a very cohesive terpolymer emulsion which can modify adhesion without excessive loss of strength properties. Flexbond 153 emulsion maintains flexibility at low temperatures. The emulsion is mechanically stable and has excellent machining properties. Dry films of Flexbond 153 emulsion are clear and resist degradation by ultraviolet radiation, oxygen and ozone. Compounding Flexbond 153 emulsion is compatible with most vinyl acetate homopolymers and copolymers. Cleanup properties of Flexbond 153 emulsion formulations are better due to the moderate water sensitivity of the films. Flexbond 153 emulsion adds cohesiveness and flexibility to many formulations. Applications: Flexbond 153 emulsion is suitable for laminating various films and foils to cellulosic surfaces. In particular, adhesion of UV-cured coated board is improved with Flexbond 153 emulsion. Flexbond 153 emulsion is suited for use in applications requiring permanent pressure sensitivity. Applications include repositionable labels, decals and tapes.
