Flexbond 167 acrylic copolymer Air Products Acrylics/ Acrylates ADHESIVE ADHESIVE >> Hot-melt >> Pressure sensitive (HMPSA) Flexbond 167 emulsion is a very high-solids acrylic copolymer that dries into a film which exhibits pressure-sensitive properties. It offers moderate peel and very good dry tack with moderate-shear properties. In addition, Flexbond 167 emulsion maintains flexibility at lower temperatures. Flexbond 167 emulsion is a soft acrylic copolymer which can broaden the application temperature range by improving adhesion at lower temperatures. The minimum application temperature of Flexbond 167 emulsion is -10 °F. The service temperature range is -50 °F to 125 °F. The emulsion is mechanically stable and has excellent machining properties. Dry films of Flexbond 167 emulsion are clear; have excellent water resistance properties; and resist degradation by ultraviolet radiation, oxygen and ozone. Compounding Flexbond 167 emulsion is compatible with most poly(vinyl acetate) homopolymers and copolymers. Care should be taken in some systems due to the high solids content of Flexbond 167 emulsion. It can be blended to vary levels of adhesion, dry tack and cohesiveness. Applications: Flexbond 167 emulsion is a polymeric adhesion promoter useful in the lamination of various films and foils to cellulosic surfaces. Flexbond 167 emulsion is suited for use in applications requiring permanent pressure sensitivity. Applications include broad temperature labels, decals and tapes.
