Flexbond 825 emulsion is surfactant-stabilized and its dry films have excellent clarity and gloss. Compounding Flexbond 825 emulsion is compatible with most plasticizers, thickeners and additives used for acrylic and vinyl acetate-acrylic copolymer bases. The emulsion accepts high loadings of fillers without appreciably increasing in viscosity. It is also stable to fluctuations in pH. Flexbond 825 emulsion may be combined with water-soluble resins such as poly(vinyl alcohol), protein, starches or casein. It is also compatible with Airflex® vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymers. The addition of Flexbond 825 emulsion to adhesive formulations can aid in water resistance, flow and wet out. Applications: Flexbond 825 emulsion is suggested for use in bonding well-treated films to porous substrates such as paper and paperboard stock where excellent clarity and water resistance are needed. It can also be used to improve the water resistance of packaging formulations. Flexbond 825 emulsion is also useful in applications requiring low-heat seal temperatures.
