It has an excellent balance of adhesion, dry tack, and high shear strength. The adhesive dried film exhibits excellent water and moisture resistance. Additionally, Flexbond AV190 DEV emulsion exhibits good plasticizer migration resistance, making permanent bonds to vinyl possible. In addition, the product has very good polyolefin adhesion. Compounding Thickening can be accomplished with the use of associative, inverse emulsion, and poly(acrylic acid) thickeners. Flexbond AV190 DEV emulsion can also be tackified without losing a significant amount of cohesive strength with hydrocarbon and rosin ester tackifiers which are typically used with acrylic emulsions. It can also be compounded with fillers such as clay and calcium carbonate. Flexbond AV190 DEV emulsion can be formulated with other PSA lattices for intermediate performance. In addition, it can be blended with vinyl acetate homopolymers and copolymers for intermediate properties. To coat untreated films, a wetting agent, such as Surfynol® 440, should be added at a minimum level of 0.2 parts per 100 parts emulsion. Applications: Excellent water resistance and good plasticizer migration properties along with good adhesion tack, and cohesive strength make this emulsion well suited for use in building and construction applications, flooring adhesives, roofing applications, film laminating, and packaging applications.
