It was specifi - cally developed to provide delayed action catalysis of the isocyanate/polyol reaction. Features and Benefits Used in both one-part moisture cure and two-part polyurethane coatings, adhesives, and sealants. Selective for the isocyanate/polyol reaction; therefore, minimizes the isocyanate/water reaction eliminating blistering and bubble formation in the coating. Useful with all types of isocyanates: both aromatic and aliphatic. Since Metacure T-131 catalyst is resistant to air oxidation, it can be masterbatched in two-part polyurethane coatings, adhesives, and sealants. Delayed action feature provides longer pot life, hence its value in two-part polyurethane systems. Metacure T-131 catalyst affords a slower cure profile compared to Metacure T-12 catalyst (dibutyl tin dilaurate). How to Formulate In one-part moisture cure systems, Metacure T-131 catalyst works best when added in the fi nal letdown stage. In two-part systems, Metacure T-131 catalyst should be added to the polyol resin side. In both cases, typical use levels range from 0.05–0.20 parts per hundred polyol.
