Akrosperse W-10104 Terpene-phenolic resin Akrochem Tackifier >> Terpene >> Terpene phenol Acrylics/ Acrylates Chloroprene Rubber (CR) Rubber - Elastomer (Chloroprene, Butyl …) ADHESIVE >> Water-based W-10104 Resin is an aqueous dispersion of P-104 Resin. P-104 is a solid terpene-phenolic resin, which is commonly used to tackify solvent borne adhesives. W-10104 has been developed for use with carboxylated polychloroprene latices. An initial look at carboxylated nitrile rubber latices and acrylic latices indicates that these systems are somewhat compatible with W-10104 as well. Compatibility with other elastomer latices can be determined by slowly adding the resin to the latex. The pH appears to be the primary influence on whether or not W-10104 is suitable for use with an elastomer latex. W- 10104 is primarily used for enhancing tack in aqueous adhesive systems. W-10104 contains a small amount of an aliphatic solvent, which is rated at zero V.O.C.'s. W-10104 Resin is supplied as an aqueous dispersion with a small particle size. It can be blended with latices which are neutral without any pH adulteration. Attempts to raise the pH of W-10104 may result in coagulation of the resin dispersion. It is recommended that zinc oxide and an antioxidant be included in formulations made with this material. Best results will be noted where pressure can be applied to the assembled pieces after coating with adhesive. The use of heat can also improve the bonding process. The open time of adhesives made with W-10104 Resin is usually up to 90 minutes. W-10104 is quite stable both by itself and when compounded in an adhesive. . Aqueous dispersion primarily used for enhancing tack in aqueous adhesive systems. Developed for use with carboxylated polychloroprene latices. (Can be blended with latices which are neutral without any pH adulteration; e.g.: carboxylated nitrile rubber latices and acrylic latices). Recommended for use with zinc oxide and an antioxidant. Best results will be noted where pressure can be applied to the assembled pieces after coating with adhesive. The use of heat can also improve the bonding process. Open time : up to 90 minutes.
