The Megatex latex exhibit typical colloidal properties including a brookfield viscosity comparable to that of typical natural rubber latex for easy blending. Specific gravitie is 1.00 ± 0.1. Due to the adduction of the polar PMMA to the non-polar NR, this specialty latex have excellent adhesive properties especially when adhering to dissimilar components. This attribute makes Megatex product an excellent adhesive promoter used either in combination with other adhesives (primer) or by itself. Applications include PVC electrical insulation tapes, paper craft tapes, masking tapes, protective tapes, etc. Megatex product are also used to extend the service of many different latex articles by improving tear and puncture strength in latex gloves and improving the modulus of latex thread, surgical tubings, catheters and thin-walled rubber articles. In addition, latex compounders have utilized Megatex in formulations to improved oil resistance of their vulcanized natural rubber films.
