P 101 Resin Phenolic resin Akrochem Aminoplaste / Phenoplaste (UF, MUF) SEALANT ADHESIVE P-101 is a heat reactive, phenolic resin used in the resin curing of butyl rubbers*, adhesive systems and sealants. A halogen donating activator (typically 5 phr of mercaptan-modified polychloroprene is used in butyl polymers) should be added for best results. P-101 has excellent compatibility with chloroprene, nitrile and natural rubbers, therefore, can be compounded with them for use in cement applications. An excellent contact cement with long open time and good dry tack properties can be made with P-101 in combination with chloroprene rubber. Butyl rubber sealants can also be made utilizing this resin obtaining cured coatings with good chemical, abrasion and heat resistance. Used in combination with activators, butyl rubber can be cured exhibiting excellent resistance to compression set and heat. Cure rates and physical properties can be adjusted with the amount of activator and resin, as well as the unsaturation of the butyl polymer. Heat reactive, phenolic resin.
