P 55 Resin Oil treated phenol-formaldehyde resin Akrochem Tackifier >> Phenolic Rubber - Elastomer (Chloroprene, Butyl …) An oil treated phenol-formaldehyde two-step resin, thermosetting as received. Finely pulverized. Contains 6.5 to 8.5% hexa as crosslinking agent. Recommended for use in SBR Rubber. Compatible in SBR Rubber to the extent of 10-12 parts per hundred. This amount of resin will act as an effective plasticizer during processing and will contribute strongly to hardness, stiffness and abrasion resistance after cure. The compatibility of P-55 with SBR Rubber can be greatly increased by using Nitrile Rubber in the formulation. The Nitrile Rubber serves as a common solvent or flux. For example, if 25 parts Nitrile Rubber is used with 75 parts SBR Rubber, up to 40 parts of resin can be used without encountering incompatibility. These recommendations also apply to Natural Rubber, and to blends of Natural Rubber with SBR Rubber. Oil treated , thermosetting phenol-formaldehyde two-step resin. Used in SBR rubber as an effective plasticizer during processing. Contributes strongly to hardness, stiffness and abrasion resistance after cure. Can be used with nitrile rubber to increase the compatilibity with SBR rubber.
