Hydral PGA Spray-dried aluminium trihydroxide Alcoa Flame and Smoke Retardants >> Aluminium trihydrate Pigments >> Titanium dioxide ADHESIVE Hydrated alumina, also known as alumina trihydrate (ATH), or simply hydrate, is more accurately designated chemically as aluminum trihydroxide, Al(OH)3. Alcoa Hydral products are specially precipitated aluminum trihydroxides. They are ultra-fine, crystalline, organic-free, pure white powders. offers similar chemical and physical properties as the Hydral products. Hydral® 716 Hydral PGA alumina has the same crystalline structure as Hydral 710, but in a spray-dried form. This results in higher bulk densities, better material flow properties and allows more economical bulk handling. The dispersant used in PGA causes the material to disperse readily when added to water, forming a stable high solid suspension. This product can be tailored for specific applications. It displays outstanding flame-retardant and smoke-suppressant properties for thermoset and thermoplastics as well as elastomeric copolymers. It is particularly useful as filler and coating pigment for fine printing papers for increased brightness, smoothness, and opacity. It is also useful as a reinforcing pigment in adhesives and adhesive tapes, and in waxes and polishes when a relatively soft and extremely fine mild abrasive is required. Hydral products improve cold flow properties, maintain the neutrality or alkalinity of the composition, and increase cohesion. Ultra-fine, crystalline, organic-free spray-dried hydrated alumina.
