Kayocel Alpha-White Fines Cellulose fiber American Fillers Fibers >> Cellulose Fibers ADHESIVE SEALANT Our SYNTHETIC FIBERS, PULPS AND CUSTOM BLENDS group offers numerous products that add substantial strength and system cohesion to sealants and adhesives. Most of these are fiber or fiber-filler blends, and they range from low-cost blends to top-of-the-line super-strong expanded aramid-pulp blends. Many of these products can also provide excellent thixotropy. KAYOCEL brand cellulosic pulp-filler compounds and fibers also can add system strength and thixotropy at very affordable prices. AFA has been in business for over 20 years, and we stand alone in our knowledge of creating synergistic blends: bringing various types of synthetic fibers and pulps together with each other or with a wide variety of filler materials, including our KAYOCEL products, to create the ultimate raw materials combination for sealants, adhesives, coatings, friction products, building products and much more. MULTI-FIBER BLENDS: We can provide you with a blend of fibers such as polyethylene pulp and staple (a staple is a true, completely non-fibrillated fiber); expanded aramid pulp and aramid staple; nylon, rayon and polyester staple; ceramic, refractory and continuous filament glass fibers, and even our very own KAYOCEL products. KAYOCEL: KAYOCEL is the original cellulose pulp and can be used in a wide variety of applications. Because of its low bulk density, it makes for a low-cost, high-quality filler. More importantly, however, is the high degree of fibrillation that KAYOCEL pulp has: this causes the “branches” of the fiber to entangle, allowing for better system cohesion and strength. There are three types of KAYOCEL: our top-of-the-line Alpha-White Pulps and Fibers, our KAYOCEL D-series, which offers excellent bonding in friction products, and the KAYOCEL KA-group that in itself offers a wide range of low-cost cellulose pulps and compounds of excellent quality. KAYOCEL Alpha-Whites: Alpha-Whites are broken down into two groups: Pulps and Fines. The Fines are true fibers, not pulps, and are also available in three sizes: 150 microns and finer, 75 microns and finer, and 45 microns and finer. These fibers still provide excellent system strength in coatings, sealants and adhesives, but because of their size, they are more readily dispersible and even sprayable. And they don’t give systems unwanted texture or clumping. Low bulk density cellulose true fiber. Used as a high-quality filler in sealants and adhesives. Provides very good strength. Can be dispersed and sprayed. Does not give unwanted texture or clumping. Available in three different fiber sizes: 150 microns and finer 75 microns and finer 45 microns and finer
