The development of colorless and transparent rosin in the limitation of Hazen color has been considered extremely difficult. We are enthusiastically researching in relation to making colorless rosin and its derivatives, and having them stabilized and functionalyzed. We have developed colorless rosin and its derivatives, PINECRYSTAL series. The PINECRYSTAL series is not only colorless, but also compatible with many kinds of polymers. They have superior thermal stability and weatherability. They also have less metal impurities. We have already put several kinds of them on the market. Furthermore, we are conducting the research of developing the derivatives by using reactivity of carboxyl group on colorless rosin. The patents as to the manufacturing process and application of colorless rosin and its derivatives were applied in Japan and for overseas. Some of them have already been approved in Japan and the US.
