It has a softening point equivalent to glycerol esters of gum rosin, with better taste and lower odor. Because SYLVAGUM TR 185 LT is a polyterpene resin, it will be more stable to oxidation than most rosin-based products. Consequently, the excellent taste and low odor characteristics will be preserved over a longer shelf life. SYLVAGUM TR 185 LT, when formulated into as gum base, will provide a softer texture than 115ºC softening point polyterpene resin, yet the chew will remain firm. The process conditions of gum grade SYLVAGUM TR 185 LT are tightly controlled to ensure a resin that meets the highest standards set forth by the confectionery industry for consistent good taste and low odor characteristics.
