It has a softening point equivalent to glycerol esters of gum rosin, but with better taste and lower odor. Because SYLVAGUM TR 90 is a polyterpene resin, it will be more stable to oxidation than most rosin-based products. Consequently, the excellent taste and low odor characteristics will be preserved over a longer shelf life. SYLVAGUM TR 90, when formulated into a gum base, will provide a softer texture than 115oC softening point polyterpene resins, yet the chew will remain firm. The process conditions of gum grade SYLVAGUM TR 90 are tightly controlled to ensure a resin that meets the highest standards set forth by the confectionery industry for consistent good taste and low odor characteristics. Consistency and high quality are assured through very special quality control screening. SYLVAGUM TR 90 Resin is a food additive, as defined by the Toxic Substance Control Act; as such, it is intended for food use only.
