Luviskol VA 73W Vinylpyrrolidone / vinyl acetate copolymer BASF Ethylene co-terpolymers - solid (EVA, EMA) ADHESIVE >> Hot-melt water Soluble in water, ethanol, isopropanol, n-propanol, glycerin, methylene chloride, esters and ketones Insoluble in ether and aliphatic hydrocarbons Vinylpyrrolidone / vinyl acetate copolymers – Luviskol ® VA The Luviskol VA grades with a high proportion of vinylpyrrolidone (VA64, VA73) are distinctly soluble in water. The other products of the VA grades are dispersible in water. The polymers are nonionic and soluble in ethanol, isopropanol, n-propanol, glycerin, methylene chloride, esters and ketones. Without auxiliary solvents, the products are insoluble in ether and aliphatic hydrocarbons Water absorption The pronounced hygroscopicity of PVP is significantly reduced by copolymerization with hydrophobic vinyl acetate. Adhesives Glue sticks Exhibits high adhesiveness (initial tack), outstanding adhesion and bonding to paper. Hot-melt adhesives Good adhesion, especially to glass, metal, paper and plastic surfaces; particularly suited for the production of remoistenable or watersoluble adhesives. Skin adhesives Viscosity modifier, toxicological safeness, readiness of crosslinking and formation of hydrogels - important properties in the production of flexible, skin-adhesive pads which adhere well. Vinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate copolymer. Used in glue sticks, remoistenable and watersoluble hot-melt adhesives and flexible, skin-adhesive pads. Can be crosslinked. Provides high adhesiveness (initial tack) and good adhesion to glass, metal, paper and plastic surfaces. Can be used as a viscosity modifier.
