Petrolite Ethylene-alpha olefin copolymer Baker Petrolite Waxes & Paraffin >> Ethylene co-terpolymers ADHESIVE >> Hot-melt Ethylene-alpha Olefin Copolymers - PETROLITE® Copolymers Addition of propylene or higher olefins to Baker Petrolite's proprietary polymerization process lends certain enhanced finished-product features. The co-polymerization process adds flexibility to the molecule by modifying the crystallinity of the finished product. Typically, branching makes the polymer softer and more flexible, increasing the hydrocarbon solubility, lowering the melting point, and increasing the melt viscosity. Products are commercially available with molecular weights in the range 650 to 1200, and melt points in the range 95°C to 115°C. Finished products can be customized for specific applications by altering the position, length, and extent of the branching. Controlled branching Control and flexibility of finished product properties Minimal amounts of low-melting components Controlled Mn and narrow MWD Formulating flexibility Controllable melting point Low melt viscosity PETROLITE co-polymers are used in a wide range of applications.
