Desmocoll 540 HV Polyester polyurethane Bayer PU - Thermoplastic (TPU) ADHESIVE >> Solvent based DESMOCOLL 540 and 540 HV Elastomeric Polyurethane Linear polyester polyurethane based on 4,4'-methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI). Desmocoll 540 polyurethane is an adhesive grade polyurethane providing a high rate of crystallization and high heat strength. It combines low heat-activation temperature with high green strength and excellent bond performance at elevated temperature. Desmocoll 540 polyurethane is suitable for bonding highly plasticized polyvinyl chloride, textiles, leather, rubber, wood and other substrates. Compared to Desmocoll 400 polyurethane, it generally offers improved adhesion to rubber and can be used in adhesives for direct injection molding of polyvinyl chloride soles to shoe-uppers. Desmocoll 540 HV polyurethane is a higher viscosity version of Desmocoll 540 and is used where high solution viscosity at a given solids level is required. Desmocoll 540 and 540 HV polyurethane based adhesives are normally used in two-way applications and contact bonding with heat activation (infrared or hot-forced air). The heat activation temperature and time depends upon the type and color of substrates involved, as well as contact pressures applied. Surface temperatures of approximately 125°F/52°C to 180°F/82°C are normally employed. High viscosity, linear polyester polyurethane based on 4,4'-diphenyl methylene diisocyanate (MDI).
