Erisys GE-5D n-Butyl glycidyl ether 2426-08-6 CVC Solvents >> Ethers & Ethers-alcohols Epoxy (EP) ADHESIVE ERISYS ® GE-5D Distilled n-Butyl Glycidyl Ether Aliphatic Monofunctional Epoxy Diluent ERISYS GE-5D is the monofunctional glycidyl ether of butyl alcohol. The distillation of BGE increases its purity and reduces chloride content, compared to technical grade BGE, GE-5. Of the CVC epoxy functional diluents, GE-5D is the most efficient in reducing the viscosity of epoxy resins. Lower formulation viscosity allows in-creased filler loading and/or improved substrate wetting. Compared to a non-diluted resin, the use of GE-5D, (of the unfilled resin portion) in a room temperature cure for-mulation, produces faster gel times. A greater degree of cure, as evidenced by the percentage of epoxy groups consumed versus time, also occurs. Due to the mono-functionality of GE-5D, some sacrifice in elevated tem-perature and chemical resistance may, however, occur.
