Thermax Stainless Powder N908 is a non- pelletized product designed for use in low shear force mixing systems and various specialty applications. Gaskets Seals Due to low reinforcement potential, thermal black imparts low modulus as compared to furnace black in otherwise identical compounds. Thermal black's low reinforcement potential will give compounds lower tensile strength relative to furnace black. The properties unique to thermal black result in compounds with higher elongation properties relative to furnace black. Thermal black's large particle size and low structure result in lower hardness in a compound compared to compounds employing furnace black at equal loadings. Thermal black results in compounds which exhibit lower tear resistance compared with those using furnace black. Compounds with thermal blacks exhibit superior compression set and other dynamic properties compared with those with furnace black. Thermal black has excellent dielectric properties and, when used as a filler, allows various elastomers to retain their high volume resistivity. Since thermal black does not seriously degrade inherent rubber properties, it can often be compounded at very high loading levels. Stainless, medium thermal carbon black.
