CAL-BEN is a selectively mined calcium bentonite clay that is only available as a 325 mesh product. A calcium bentonite clay doesn¡¯t have the swelling characteristics of a sodium bentonite (e.g., Suspengels), but they perform well in feed bond; as carriers for agricultural chemical; as thickeners or co-thickeners in mass compounds (e.g., joint compounds) and textured coatings; etc. Used also in caulking and sealant formulations.
