DSX 3256 Polyurethane Cognis Rheology Modifiers / Thickeners >> Urethane (HEUR) Acrylics/ Acrylates ADHESIVE >> Water-based Non-ionic, solvent-free rheology additive for aqueous coatings. Solution of a polyurethane in water / diluent DSX® 3256 is an associative polyurethane thickener that confers a pseudoplastic behaviour to the aqueous systems. The properties of the product are independent of the pH. Exempt of solvents. The usage of DSX® 3256 in the aqueous paint formulation allow to achieve the following advantages: improvement of flow increment of hiding power splashing reduction during roller application increment of wash and scrub resistance no negative effects in gloss Furthermore, DSX® 3256 shows excellent film forming properties, good pigment wetting and a high UV stability. DSX® 3256 is an associative polyurethane thickener designed for the modification of rheology in aqueous polymer emulsions. The effectiveness of DSX® 3256 is higher in anionic emulsion type, pure acrylics and acrylic-styrenic systems than in protective colloid emulsions like veovas. DSX® 3256 is recommended for use in adhesives. DSX® 3256 can be formulated with other thickeners such as cellulose derivatives and acrylate thickener. Dosage The recommended dosage of DSX® 3256 lies between 1.0 - 3.0% upon the total formulation. It depends on pigmentation, dispersing type, amount of binder, and co-solvents used. Non-ionic solvent-free polyurethane associative thickener. Designed for the modification of rheology in aqueous polymer emulsions. Confers a pseudoplastic behavior to aqueous systems. Improves flow, hiding power, wash and scrub resistance. Reduces splashing during roller application. Has no negative effects in gloss. Can be formulated with other thickeners such as cellulose derivatives and acrylate thickener. Use level: 1.0-3.0 % on total formulation.
