Due to its chemical composition, DISPONIL® AES 21 combines the advantages non-ionic and anionic emulsifiers. Dispersions prepared with DISPONIL® AES 21 are characterized by high chemical and mechanical stability as well as good foam and wetting behaviour. The particle sizes achieved are usually higher than those obtained with our chemically similar emulsifiers DISPONIL® FES 61 IS and DISPONIL® FES 77 IS. The quantities to be used depend on the type and quantity of the starting monomers, in several cases also on the type and quantity of the coemulsifiers used, as well as on the polymerization process involved and the desired properties of the polymer emulsion. Generally, 0.5 - 5.0 % AS of DISPONIL® AES 21 related to the monomer contents, are used. The polymer dispersions used as wood adhesives and tile adhesives have to be stabilized by the emulsifier during polymerisation and beyond - throughout the packaging, transportation, mixing and application stages. Alkyl aryl polyglycol ether. Used as emulsifier for the manufacture of emulsion polymers used in adhesives. Stabilizes the polymer dispersion during polymerisation. Provides high chemical and mechanical stability as well as good foam and wetting behaviour. Use level: 0.5-5% related to the monomer contents.
