Disponil SUS IC 680 Dihexyl sulphosuccinate, sodium salt Cognis Surfactants ADHESIVE Dihexyl sulphosuccinate, sodium salt While exhibiting good emulsifying and stabilizing properties in polymer dispersions, DISPONIL® SUS IC 680 has only a weak surfactant character due to the relatively short C-chains of the ester alcohol. These surfactant properties are manifest by a reduced foaming tendency and a relatively high critical micelle concentration of approx. 5 g AS/l. DISPONIL® SUS IC 680 must be diluted with care in water. In the region of 50 - 70 % AS liquid-crystalline phases may occur. Below 50 % activity DISPONIL® SUS IC 680 is miscible with water in any ratio. It is recommended to stir the wetting agent into water and not vice versa. Application DISPONIL® SUS IC 680 is used as a wetting agent in aqueous coatings, printing inks and related systems. Because of its good wetting properties it is particularly suitable for difficult-to-wet substrates such as plastics, cellulose film, aluminium and plastic foils, silicone treated papers or glass. DISPONIL® SUS IC 680 is an anionic emulsifier which can be used in the manufacture of vinyl acetate/ butadiene/ styrene, acrylic and styrene-acrylic latices. Polymer dispersions stabilized with DISPONIL® SUS IC 680 generally excel by their fine particle size, good wetting properties and low viscosity. To improve the shear and electrolyte stability of such dispersions, the use of DISPONIL® SUS IC 680 together with higher ethoxylated non-ionic surfactants (DISPONIL®-LS-, A-, -TA- and -NP- types) is recommended. Dosage 0.1 - 1.0 % AS, calculated on the finished coating. The exact dosage should be determined by appropriate test. Anionic dihexyl sulphosuccinate, sodium salt. Used as emulsifier in polymer emulsions for adhesives. Used also as wetting agent in aqueous systems. Provides stabilizing properties.
