Disponil SUS IC 875 Di-2-ethylhexyl sulphosuccinate, sodium salt Cognis Surfactants ADHESIVE Di-2-ethylhexyl sulphosuccinate, sodium salt DISPONIL® SUS IC 875 is a very good wetting agent with only a medium tendency of foam formation in aqueous solutions or in polymer dispersions. The relatively low critical micelle concentration of approximately 1 g AS/l and the strong reduction in surface tension of aqueous solutions, even when using low concentrations, make DISPONIL® SUS IC 875 an ideal surface active agent. DISPONIL® SUS IC 875 is just slightly water-soluble. The water solubility may be increased by the addition of a small amount of a solubilizer allowing solubility of up to 80 % to be achieved. Diluting DISPONIL® SUS IC 875 with water is possible up to a certain extent, but liquid-crystalline gel type phases may occur in the region of approximately 50 % AS. DISPONIL® SUS IC 875 is used as a wetting agent in aqueous coatings, printing inks and related systems. On account of its good wetting properties it is particularly suitable for difficult-to-wet substrates such as plastics and metal surfaces, cellulose film, aluminium and plastic foils, silicone treated papers or glass. DISPONIL® SUS IC 875 may be used as an emulsifier for the emulsion polymerization of practically all types of monomers. The polymer dispersions stabilized by means of DISPONIL® SUS IC 875 excell by their very good wetting properties. If outstanding wetting properties of a dispersion must be combined with high mechanical stability, we recommend the use of DISPONIL® SUS IC 875 together with our highly ethoxylated non-ionic surfactants of the DISPONIL®® LS, TA or NP type. Dosage 0.1 - 1.0 % AS, calculated on the finished coating. The exact dosage should be determined by appropriate test. Anionic di-2-ethylhexyl sulphosuccinate, sodium salt. Used as emulsifier for the emulsion polymerization of practically all types of monomers used in adhesives. Used also as wetting agent in aqueous systems. Provides stabilizing properties.
