Empol 1022 Dimer acid 61788-89-4 Cognis Polymer intermediates ADHESIVE >> Hot-melt ADHESIVE >> Solvent based Hotmelts (polyamide, polyester, polyurethane) Solvent based adhesives systems (polyurethane) Reactive adhesives systems (polyester, polyurethane) Packaging (paper, film & foil laminates) Automotive (auto air and oil filters, upholstered car seats, construction of sun visors) Textiles (footwear, interlining for labels and emblems) Electronic (television tubes, flexible printed circuit board, coil insulation) Furniture (high pressure laminate,e.g.kitchen cabinets) Empol® Dimer Acids are a mixture of C-36 dibasic acids produced by the oligomerization of C-18 unsaturated fatty acids. High in molecular weight, yet still liquid, these acids provide the basis for product improvements and innovation in the formulation of many diversified polyamide and polyester based adhesive products. Recommended products: Empol® 1018, Empol® 1061, Empol® 1062, Empol® 1008. Formulators will also notice excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates, fast set, high impact strength, low water absorption by incorporating Empol® Dimer Acids. Empol® Dimer Acids can be used to achieve excellent stability and resistance to thermal degradation. Using Empol® Dimer acids as a building block in polyamide and polyester based adhesives increases the flexibility which results in better bond stability. The light color and excellent oxidative stability of Empol® Dimer acids provide formulators the opportunity to manufacture light colored hot-melt adhesives. Our naturally derived oleochemical-based specialty chemicals serve as environmentally sound, high-performance building blocks for polymers, resins, adhesives and lubricants. Many of our PMT products meet FDA regulations, making them popular choices in food packaging applications. EMPOL ® 1022 typically contains 78% dibasic acid, 14% polybasic acids, and 8% monobasic acid. This acid is useful where a high molecular weight, liquid acid is required, and the purity/color of a distilled dimer acid is not critical. It finds use in both liquid and solid polyamide applications. Surface Coatings Flexible Unsaturated Polyesters Ink Resins Elastomers Lubricants Greases Plasticizers Epoxy Curing Agents Corrosion Inhibitors Soaps Dimer acid. Used in the formulation of polyamide and polyester based hotmelt, solvent-based and reactive adhesives. Possesses high molecular weight. Provides very good oxidation stability and adhesion to a wide variety of substrates, fast set, high impact strength, low water absorption, very good stability and resistance to thermal degradation, increased flexibility and very good oxidative stability. Applications: packaging (paper, film and foil laminates), automotive (auto air and oil filters, upholstered car seats, construction of sun visors), textiles (footwear, interlining for labels and emblems), electronic(television tubes, flexible printed circuit board, coil insulation) and furniture (high pressure laminate, e.g.kitchen cabinets).
