Celogen RA for Rubber p-Toluene sulfonyl semicarbazide Crompton-Uniroyal Chemical Surfactants Chloroprene Rubber (CR) Rubber - Elastomer (Chloroprene, Butyl …) Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Polyolefins (PE, PP…) CELOGEN ® RA Chemical Foaming Agent p-toluene sulfonyl semicarbazide Strong – treated urea (BIK ® OT) Moderate – barium stearate, calcium stearate, zinc stearate and zinc oxide. Nondiscoloring, decomposition residue is white. High temperature cures. Extruded closed cell automotive profiles, plus nylon and other plastics. Celogen RA is a nonstaining, nondiscoloring and odorless nitrogen foaming agent for expanded plastics and sponge rubber. Recommended for applications which require high processing temperature. Decomposes in air at 230ºC (447ºF) and in plastics at 213º- 230ºC (415º-447ºF). Particularly effective in plastics such as ABS polymers, rigid polyvinyl chloride, high density polyethylene and polypropylene. Effective also in natural, SBR, BR , nitrile (e.g. Paracril®), Neoprene, EPDM (e.g. Royalene®) and butyl rubbers. Decomposition temperature of material may be lowered by the use of BIK® OT. Nondiscoloring, nonstaining and odorless p-toluene sulfonyl semicarbazide. Used as a foaming agent for expanded plastics and sponge rubber at high processing temperature. Can be used in combination with very strong activators such as treated urea, moderate activators such as barium stearate, calcium stearate, zinc stearate and zinc oxide. Can be used in plastics such as ABS polymers, rigid polyvinyl chloride, high density polyethylene and polypropylene, natural, SBR, BR , nitrile, neoprene, EPDM and butyl rubbers.
