Products differ mainly in degree of overbasing, apparent density and particle fineness of powders. Calcium stearate is used as a catalyst neutralizer and/or lubricant in PVC and polypropylenes. Higher density granules minimize dust generation during processing. A stoichiometric version (HPLG) offers proved clarity for non-pigmented products. For pigmented products, Calcium Stearates F or Extra Dense G are used depending on acceptability or unacceptability of dust during processing. Calcium Stearate HPLG is particularly suited for polypropylene fiber applications. Calcium salt of distilled, hydrogenated fatty acids.
