Cydrothane HP 1035 Polyester based urethane Cytec PU - Polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) >> Polyester PU ADHESIVE >> Water-based CYDROTHANE polyurethane dispersions are fully reacted, high molecular weight polymers that are dispersed in water by neutralizing the carboxylic acid groups in the backbone. There are no unreacted isocyanate groups. CYDROTHANE dispersions are prepared without the use of organic solvents. The backbone resins in CYDROTHANE HP 1035 is polyester. The physical properties measured on free films show very high tensile strength combined with high elongation to break. This combination imparts excellent toughness to coatings prepared from these dispersions. The softer dispersions, HP 1035 exhibits excellent toughness and adhesion to flexible substrates. They have found utility as binders in bonding and laminating applications. Dispersions specifically designed for adhesive applications are under development.
