This resin is infinitely dilutable in cold water. This feature, combined with fast cure, makes it most suitable for many binder applications. Catalysts are essential to provide faster curing schedules. CYMEL WE-1025D resin is suggested for any binder application requiring a fully water-soluble thermosetting melamine resin. It is also recommended to modify other water-soluble or dispersible resins to promote water resistance, hardness, and punkproof properties, such as phenolics for fiber glass insulation. It can be used to impregnate various synthetic and natural fibers for filter cartridges and cooling tower fins and as a sizing agent for cement-asbestos board.
