MELURAC 450 HF resin is a specially compounded melamine-urea-formaldehyde adhesive in a free-flowing powdered form designed to meet the most rigid commercial and federal specifications for an exterior waterproof adhesive, including the requirements of CS 253-63. It is a heat-curing adhesive for high frequency gluing of truck and railroad flooring, laminated timber, beams, and millwork. It can also be hot-pressed for the production of flat and curved plywood, exterior doors, or general assembly bonding wherever waterproof bonds are required. Easily meets and surpasses the wet and dry shear values required by Commercial and Military Specifications for exterior or marine grade plywood and structural members. Catalysts may be used to accelerate cure; however, these are not necessary, especially with plywood. The resin will cure under heat and pressure alone, but catalysts are generally needed to meet fast cure requirements of high frequency bonding. Two catalyst systems are available for high frequency bonding, namely: CYCAT® HF 250 and CYCAT HF catalysts. Co-spray dried melamine urea-formaldehyde. Designed for optimum performance in both high frequency and hot press application. Used as a heat-curing adhesive. Can be catalyzed. Possesses very good bond strength, durability, dry heat resistance, non-staining properties and long working life and assembly time. Application: high frequency gluing of truck and railroad flooring, laminated timber, beams, and millwork; glue performance with various type of softwoods (both Southern and Western) and hardwoods; exterior waterproof adhesive.
