Phthalic acid based polymeric plasticizers are resistant to water and have a high resistance to oil and fat. Adipic acid based polymeric plasticizers are highly resistant to oil and fat and perform very well in outdoor applications because of their UV-resistance. The excellent properties of polymeric plasticizers make them the material of choice for contact with foodstuffs, beverages and chemicals, as well as for temperature and stain resistant applications. Uraplast S 5728 is a low viscous polymeric plasticiser based on adipic acid. It has an approximate average molecular weight (Mn) of 900. Uraplast S 5728 can be used for self adhesive foils and construction foils, protective clothing, artificial leather, tarpaulins and conveyor belts. Due to its oil resistance it can be used for oil hoses and for dip coatings for oil resistant articles. Uraplast S 5728 can in certain cases replace phthalate containing polymeric plasticisers, since it is based on adipic acid and therefor phthalate free. Uraplast S 5728 combines a low viscosity with fair oil resistance and good water resistance. The low viscosity is beneficial in processing, especially in dip coatings and plastisols.
