TPSiV 1180-50D Thermoplastic silicone vulcanizate Dow Corning-Multibase Silicone (Si) SEALANT >> Pre-formed tape / Gasket TPSiV is a Thermoplastic Silicone Vulcanizate. These materials are alloy type thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) consisting of fully cured silicone particles dispersed in a continuous phase of engineering thermoplastic. They combine the high temperature elastomeric performance of silicone rubber with the melt re-processability and thermal and chemical resistance of engineering thermoplastics. TPSiV materials have a wide range of hardness, from 50 Shore A to 60 Shore D, excellent high temperature performance in air, excellent abrasion resistance, excellent resistance to chemicals including fuel and oil, as well as low compression set and tensile set at elevated temperatures. TPSiV 1180-50D offers superior flexibility and strength at high temperatures without the use of plasticizers. It is a "flexible" nylon with a continuous use temperature (CUT) of 140°C (284°F). It has excellent "drawing" capability for profile extrusion; excellent oil and chemical resistance and hydrolytic stability at high temperatures; and is particularly suited for automotive and industrial tubing applications where oil, chemical and high temperature resistance are important. Fully cured silicone particles dispersed in a continuous phase of engineering thermoplastic. Used in seals and gaskets. Offers high temperature elastomeric performance, melt re-processability, thermal and chemical resistance, very good high temperature performance in air, abrasion resistance, resistance to chemicals including fuel and oil, low compression set and tensile set at elevated temperatures. Provides superior flexibility and strength at high temperatures without the use of plasticizers, very good "drawing" capability and very good hydrolytic stability at high temperatures.
