Elvanol T-91 Polyvinyl alcohol DuPont Polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) ADHESIVE Elvanol® T-91 is a unique copolymer polyvinyl designed specifically for use as a warp size for spun yarns. Supplied as a white, granular solid, it slurries easily in cold water without lumping and dissolves readily on heating. Solutions of Elvanol® T-91 are stable, noncorrosive, and nontoxic. Elvanol® T-91 as supplied can be stored indefinitely without lumping, molding, or deteriorating. Since solutions of Elvanol® T-91 do not gel or mold, they can be stored over weekends and shutdown periodically without impairing their usefulness. Elvanol® T-91 is a proprietary blend of polyvinyl alcohols, with the base resin of Elvanol® T-66 copolymer. It is designed to reduce skinning and hard size in the size box when using formulations with high levels of polyvinyl alcohol to provide easier operation in slashing. Elvanol® T-91 is suggested for use in any warp size formulation. The base copolymer provides an extremely stable polyvinyl alcohol, with the strength and abrasion resistance of a fully hydrolyzed grade, with desizing performance similar to a partially hydrolyzed grade. The blend is designed to provide maximum benefit with formulations with very little starch or other components. It was specially designed for use in formulations with only polyvinyl alcohol and lubricant. It performs very well in size recovery systems. It performs well on all spun yarns, including cotton, polyester, rayon, and blends, as well as fiberglass. Polyvinyl alcohol copolymer.
