Aquastik 1120 chloroprene copolymer Dupont Dow Elastomers Rubber - Elastomer >> Chlorinated rubber / Chloroprene, CR ADHESIVE >> Hot-melt >> Pressure sensitive (HMPSA) ADHESIVE >> Solvent based >> Contact adhesive AquaStik® 1120 contains a chloroprene copolymer which has carboxyl functionality that can be used to achieve high modulus properties. AquaStik® 1120 has outstanding resistance to prolonged intensive mixing. It also shows a broad tolerance to temperature and many materials that destabilize other Neoprene liquid dispersions (LDs). Many electrolytes and fillers can be added directly to the LD without any adverse effect on mechanical or storage stability. All anionic Neoprene LDs, and materials such as sodium silicate and borate salts that react with polyvinyl alcohol, will cause some thickening and partial flocculation of the latex, but not coagulation in the conventional sense. The carboxyl functionality in AquaStik® 1120 offers an opportunity for room temperature curing by ionic cross-linking with metal oxides. Cross-linking can be achieved at elevated temperatures with organic crosslinking agents such as methylol ureas and methylol melamines. Standard curing systems for Neoprene LDs can also be used.
