Viton GF Fluoroelastomer Dupont Dow Elastomers Fluoropolymers SEALANT ADHESIVE In adhesives applications, Viton forms a strong bond that can flex without failure after repeated temperature cycling and vibration. Viton GF is the newest member of a family of peroxide-curable fluorocarbon elastomers. Compounds of Viton GF cured with peroxides afford high strength and exceptional resistance to oils and organic fluids (e.g., gasohol), hot water, steam, inorganic acids, and other aqueous media. Viton GF can also be vulcanized with dihydroxy or diamine curatives, offering similar performance in organic fluids but less resistance to aqueous media, relative to peroxide cures. With each of these curing systems, vulcanizates of Viton GF retain the excellent heat resistance typical of conventional fluoroelastomers. Viton GF is readily processed on conventional rubber equipment. End products can be fabricated by compression, transfer, and injection molding, as well as by extrusion, calendering, and solution techniques. Features high polymer stability and compound bin storage stability Fast cure rate with good processing safety Superior resistance to oils and organic fluids, including gasohol Very good resistance to hot water, steam, and aqueous acids when appropriately compounded with litharge and cured with peroxide Peroxide-curable fluorocarbon elastomer. Provides high strength, resistance to oils and organic fluids, hot water, steam, inorganic acids, and other aqueous media. Can be vulcanized with dihydroxy or diamine curatives. Offers high heat resistance. Forms a strong bond that can flex without failure after repeated temperature cycling and vibration in adhesives applications.
