It is destined for non-food applications. EASTMAN Ester Gum LD Resin is commonly used as a resin modifier for film formers, elastomers and waxes in various adhesive, ink and protective coating compositions Pale color; low odor; low acid number; good adhesion and tack-producing properties; broad solubility and compatibility ranges. Compatible with natural rubber, synthetic rubbers, Ethylcellulose, Polystyrene, many natural and synthetic resins, waxes and most vinyl resins. Soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, aliphatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones and carbon tetrachloride. Insoluble in Methanol and Ethanol. Solubility Parameters, 50% resin concentration. 7,0-10,6 in Class I solvents - weakly hydrogen-bonded; 7,4-10,5 in Class II solvents - moderately hydrogen-bonded; 9,5-11,4 in Class III solvents - strongly hydrogen-bonded. Medium hard thermoplastic resin. Deoderised glycerol ester of selected rosin. Destined for non-food applications. Commonly used as a resin modifier for film formers, elastomers and waxes in various adhesive, compositions. Possesses pale color; low odor; low acid number; good adhesion and tack-producing properties; broad solubility and compatibility ranges. Compatible with natural rubber, synthetic rubbers, ethylcellulose, polystyrene, many natural and synthetic resins, waxes and most vinyl resins.
