They are available in a wide range of grades (see below) and offer many performance benefits, including excellent titanium dioxide extension, improved color, gloss control, dispersion, stain resistance and enamel holdout. For example, in adhesive applications, ASP functional extenders improve and speed wet tack, increase viscosity, speed drying and reduce costs. In inks, ASP products improve color development and holdout to prevent strikethrough and reduce costs. ASP 170: very fine particle size, premium brightness grade made using Engelhard's patented Ultra-flotation process; for use in gloss, water- and solvent-borne and semi-gloss coatings , inks and many other industrial applications.
