NXT™ silane can help lower the cost of silica-rubber tread compounding, while improving tire performance. It facilitates higher temperature mixing without causing viscosity increase or premature vulcanization, so fewer mixing steps are required for compounding silica-filled, shelf-stable rubber compounds. Gives better silica dispersion and improved coupling of the silica with the rubber; these benefits give rheological properties that predict a reduction in rolling resistance of tires made with NXT silane compared to tires made with traditional polysulfide silanes. NXT silica coupler is designed to reduce the number of non-productive mixing steps, while improving processing and performance of the tread compound. It requires only a single non-productive mixing step. With NXT silane, mixing temperatures as high as 180ºC can be employed, dependent on the formulation. Thiocarboxylate functional silane.
