PVP/VA I-635 Vinylpyrrolidone/vinylacetate copolymer International Specialty Products Polyvinyl acetate emulsions & derivatives (PVAc…) >> PVAc homopolymers ADHESIVE >> Hot-melt ADHESIVE >> Hot-melt >> Pressure sensitive (HMPSA) PVP/VA, thermoplasticity, oxygen permeability, varying hydrophilicity and adhesion Vinylpyrrolidone/Vinylacetate Copolymers PVP/VA copolymers produce transparent, flexible, oxygen permeable films which adhere to glass, plastics and metals. These properties, coupled with the ability to control their hydrophilicity through monomer composition, lead to extensive industrial use: In remoistenable, hot melt adhesives In repulpable, pressure sensitive adhesives, where the water solubility of S-630 facilitates recycling In a hot melt adhesive for a diaper wetness indicator system As a binder for dry film photoresists In solder masks utilizing aqueous processing Polyvinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate (PVP/VA) resins are linear, random copolymers produced by the free-radical polymerization of the monomers in ratios varying from 70/30 to 30/70 vinyl acetate to vinylpyrrolidone. The PVP/VA copolymers are thermoplastic resins with molecular weights from 20M to 50M. Their glass transition temperatures vary from 55 to 109°C and hydrophilicity increases with vinylpyrrolidone content. Thermoplastic, linear, random vinylpyrrolidone/vinylacetate copolymer. Used in remoistenable hot melt adhesives, repulpable pressure sensitive adhesives and hot melt adhesive for diaper wetness indicator system. Provides transparency, flexibility, oxygen permeability and adhesion to glass, plastics and metals.
