Poval PVA-124 Polyvinyl alcohol Kuraray Polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) ADHESIVE Completely hydrolyzed grade PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol, POVAL) is a unique functional resin that KURARAY first industrialized in the world as a pioneer. Its water-solubility is the most particular characteristic, even though PVA is one of the synthetic high polymers. "KURARAY POVAL" has variety of characteristics, such kind of adhesiveness, film formation property, emulsifying property, oil-resistant ability. By utilizing these kind of properties, "KURARAY POVAL" has been used in various industrial applications, such as the synthetic fiber Vinylon, and Poval film, warp sizing, paper sizing, stabilizer for the PVC polymerization etc. Solubility: Water-soluble. Dissolving speed will accelerate with the rise of water temperature. The oil-resistant property is extremely high, and does not dissolve in almost all of the organic solvents, however, some of PVA can be dissolved in organic solvent, such as a kind of glycol, DMSO, and phenol. Acid and alkali resistance: Hardly effected by acid or alkali under a weak condition. Thermal stability: The melting point and the thermal decomposition starting point are close, and the decomposition gradually starts from higher that 180 C degrees. Film formation property: Apt to form yarn and film, and its physical performance, such as tensile strength, tear strength, abrasion resistance, is superior to other synthetic resins. Moisture absorption property: Compared with other water-soluble synthetic resins, moisture absorption property is lower and be less affected by the humidity. Adhesives : Paper, remoistenable adhesive Water soluble, completely hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol resin. Used in paper adhesives. Possesses adhesiveness, film formation property, emulsifying property, high oil-resistant ability and acid and alkali resistance under weak conditions. Offers good tensile strength, tear strength and abrasion resistance, thermal stability and low moisture absorption property.
