Rockseal RS440-Roxul 1000 Mineral fibre Lapinus Fibres Fibers Rubber - Elastomer (Chloroprene, Butyl …) SEALANT >> Pre-formed tape / Gasket Lapinus Fibres BV develops and supplies Rockseal* mineral fibres as an essential component in most type of Gasket formulations. These highly cleaned fibres comply with our Roxul*1000 chemistry and are therefor very safe to work with. Rockseal* mineral fibres are specially engineered for industrial and automotive applications in Non-Asbestos Organic (NAO) gasket materials like compressed sheets. Compressed sheet materials In compressed sheets Rockseal® distinguishes itself by its unique properties: inorganic. heat resistance > 700 ºC (1300ºF) giving a better temperature and steam resistance to the gasket easy dispersion in rubber/solvent mixes due to the surface modification of the fibre, showing an affinity for rubbers and solvents, resulting in both a shorter mixing-time and a very homogeneous mixture reactive surface which cross links with rubbers in the matrix, thus forming a closed fibre matrix network, resulting in improved mechanical strength of the gasket and high creep resistance no ignition loss/no oxidation meaning a low porosity of the gasket resulting in improved durability high fibre loads possible up to 40% improving properties like thermal stability, torque retention, sealability and load bearing capacity. Fibre grades best suitable for compressed sheet applications are RS440-Roxul®1000 Rockseal ® RS440–Roxul ® 1000 is a premium quality mineral fibre. Its surface modification gives optimum processing conditions and compatibility/reactivity with sulpher cured rubbers resulting in higher tensile strength and better immersion resistance of the product. Rockseal ® RS440–Roxul ® 1000 is designed for use in high quality compressed sheets. It is possible to incorporate high amounts of these inorganic fibres and at the same time reduce the amount of (expensive) organic fibres, resulting in a more steam resistant gasket with lower hot compression set values. Due to the surface treatment a longer fibre length (after calandering) is obtained. This combined with the chemical reaction between rubber and fibre surface results in a higher tensile strength and a better immersion resistance of the finished product. Highly cleaned, mineral fibre. Used for industrial and automotive applications in non-asbestos organic (NAO) gasket materials like high quality compressed sheets. Offers good temperature and steam resistance, easy dispersion in rubber/solvent mixes, reactive surface which cross links with rubbers, improved mechanical strength, high creep resistance, no ignition loss, no oxidation, low porosity, improved durability, high fibre loads possibility, improved thermal stability, torque retention, sealability and load bearing capacity. Possesses surface modification with sufur. Gives optimum processing conditions and compatibility/reactivity with sulpher cured rubbers, high tensile strength and good immersion resistance and low hot compression set values.
