It produces pastes of medium viscosity. Because of its low molecular weight Pevikon® P 602 is particularly suited for applications where low gelation temperature or short oven time is important as an alternative to paste copolymers. Typical areas are low temperature chemical foam backing for carpets and floorings and solid impregnation with heated drum. Another interesting field is the use of higher molecular weight plasticisers to reduce volatility both in production and final use. Further, its use could lead to replacing expensive high solvating plasticisers while keeping the same degree of gelation. Paste-making vinyl chloride homopolymer.
