Polythix M Poly-Resyn Rheology Modifiers / Thickeners ADHESIVE SEALANT SEALANT >> Putty POLYTHIX M is a white powder that provides a high degree of thixotrophy for pigmented systems containing oils, resins, varnishes and polymers containing aliphatic solvents. Its principal features are viscosity increase, thixotrophic consistency, pigment suspension, control of penetration and sagging with optimum flow (leveling). Truly thixotrophic systems based on POLYTHIX M have a characteristic property,--"butteryness" which provides easy, smooth application rather than a stiff gel structure of "stickiness". POLYTHIX M has no affect on color, gloss, water resistance, adhesion or durability. The molecular structure of POLYTHIX M is very well known for providing maximum rheological values : Viscosity Increase, Rapid Development of Thixotrophy, Butteryness, Pigment Suspension, Optimum Balance Between Sag Control and Leveling, Non Penetration. The basic chemical structure of POLYTHIX M provides maximum thixotrophy. Following thorough dispersion, a structure is built, by swelling and gelling, producing a viscosity increase. This is reduced by the shearing action that takes place during application. The viscosity recovery that follows is typical of the time dependent characteristic of thixotrophy. This time dependency is contrasted with the quick recovery of the organoclay pseudoplastic gallants; POLYTHIX M provides better flow and leveling without impairing sag control. Rheology modifier. Provides a high degree of thixotrophy in adhesives, caulks, sealants, putties and mastics. Used in pigmented systems containing oils, resins, varnishes and polymers containing aliphatic solvents. Offers increased viscosity, thixotrophic consistency, pigment suspension, control of penetration and sagging with optimum flow (leveling). Shows no affect on color, gloss, water resistance, adhesion or durability. Use level : 0.25% to 0.9% based on total formulation weight.
