The used dispersing agents are compatible with all polymers. Calcium oxide (CaO) absorbs the moisture by forming calcium hydroxide. This enables the production of vulcanizates to be cured without pressure and which, otherwise, even using vacuum extruders, show porosity due to the moisture still present in the compounds. This is why Rhenofit C is preferably used in extrusion compounds which have to be cured continuously either in open air, fluid beds, salt baths or in the UHF equipment. Rhenofit C can also be recommended for the use in expanded compounds (sponge rubber or foam rubber) because Rhenofit C provides a more uniform cell structure. The usual dosage is between 2 and 10 phr. It is mainly determined by the expected moisture content which mostly depends on the amount and type of filler used.
