Rhodoline 1560 Acrylic Rhodia Rheology Modifiers / Thickeners >> Alkali-Swellable Acrylic polymers (ASE/ HASE) ADHESIVE >> Solvent based ADHESIVE >> Water-based RHODOLINE 1560 is a high molecular weight acrylic thickener in emulsion form for ease of handling. It provides increased viscosity for inks, adhesives, coatings, pigment dispersions, and resin latex or solvent emulsions. RHODOLINE 1560 is an alkali-swellable product which must be neutralized to pH 8-9 for maximum efficiency. Low viscosity for ease of handling Thickens rapidly in an alkaline medium Thickened solution and dried films are clear and light colored Prevents syneresis, creaming and sedimentation RHODOLINE 1560 may be added directly to many coatings or emulsions which can provide in-situ neutralization and thickening. Additional alkali to obtain final system pH may be added before the RHODOLINE 1560 is added. To prepare a stock solution of RHODOLINE 1560, it should be prediluted with water to 5% solids, using mild agitation. Based on the weight of RHODOLINE 1560 used, add 7.7% of concentrated ammonia, or 5.1% of a 10% NaOH solution, to provide a final pH 8-9. Equivalent amounts of other inorganic or organic bases may be used. The order of addition may be varied, based on mixing equipment to be used and on composition of finished product. High molecular weight, alkali-swellable acrylic emulsion. Used as a thickener in adhesives. Possesses low viscosity. Offers rapid thickening in alkaline medium. Provides clarity and light color. Prevents syneresis, creaming and sedimentation.
