Polychlon E-5 Chlorinated polyethylene Rishiroop Polyolefins (PE, PP) >> Chlorinated ADHESIVE POLYCHLON is trade name for Chlorinated Polyolefin produced by Rishiroop Rubber (International) Ltd. It is a chemically inert material with excellent film forming properties and can be used extensively in an expanding range of applications. It is non-flammable, nontoxic, tasteless white powder, a fast physically drying binder, it has extremely low chemical reactivity and can freely dissolve in solvents. It is extensively used in paints and printing inks. POLYCHLON is chemically unreactive and shows a high degree of impermeability of water and water vapour; its films are characterised by their excellent resistance to corrosive influences. These and other very valuable properties make POLYCHLON important to the paint industry because it is superior in many respects to more conventional resins, it can be used as a sole resin or to upgrade formulations containing conventional types, such as alkyds, Water and flame resistant coatings can be provided and textile industries. Weather resistance Excellent. COMPATIBILITY Compatible with many commonly used resins; can be used in combination with coumarone resins, ester gum, petroleum resin, alkyd resin, phenol resin, maleic resin, coal tar, etc. PLASTICIZERS Polychlon is too hard brittle to be applied alone, so plasticizers must be formulated with Polychlon except in special cases. Commonly used plasticizers depend on individual uses, but chlorinated paraffins, etc. are suitable where chemical and heat resistance is required. STABILITY Polychlon has far betterr resistance to weathering and heat, compared with other chlorinated polymers. In practical use, however, especially when higher stability is required, addition of an epoxy resin, epoxide compound, basic lead salt, organic in compound, etc. In an amount of 0.5% will be effective. ADHESIVES Creep resistance, cost reduction, open-time control (metal-rubber adhesives, chloroprene rubber, nitrile rubber). Non-toxic, non-flammable, tasteless, chemically inert, chlorinated polyethylene. Used in metal-rubber adhesives.
