Such salts are common components of biocide formulations. KATHON® LX150 is water based and has been specifically formulated to overcome these problems, which presents several advantages to the adhesives manufacturer: Gel formation is greatly reduced or eliminated Little / no need to predilute the concentrate biocide, so minimising upstream water addtion Less economic, non gel forming biocides, are no longer required Raw materials, such as surfactants, used to counteract gels can be eliminated Plant maintenance and filter replacement are reduced Less "off spec" material is produced Water-based, formaldehyde-free, low toxicity, biodegradable biocide.
